Ronda Lea WojtekSan AngeloRonda Lea Wojtek passed away at Regency House Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, 2017, waiting for her breakfast milkshake. Ronda was 95 years old and enjoyed life every one of those years.Ronda was born on May 14, 1921, in Miles, Texas, to Haddah Homa Perry Young and Samuel Randolph Young. She lived her younger years in Nacogdoches, Winter Garden, Uvalde, and Miles, where she graduated high school, and eventually landed in Robert Lee when S. R. bought the town newspaper, The Robert Lee Observer. While Ronda was working for the Observer, she met one of the owners of the Alamo Theatre, Victor Wojtek. They were married on Feb. 10, 1940, and celebrated 53 years of marriage before Victor died in 1993. Ronda and Victor raised five children in Robert Lee. She helped Victor farm and ranch and run the Alamo Theatre and skating rink. After attending college in the 30's, Ronda returned to Angelo State University and earned her teaching degree in 1972. She then taught in the San Angelo and Robert Lee schools for 15 years. After retiring, Ronda and Victor moved to San Angelo to be close to their kids and granddaughter and to continue pursuing their love of music and dancing.Ronda is survived by four daughters, Vicki and husband Monty Trimble of Corsicana, Mary and husband Mike Hollis of Alvin, Rinda Lizabeth Wojtek of San Angelo and Phyllis and husband Gaylon Murphy of Mesquite; and one son, Charles (Buz) Wojtek and wife Cynthia of San Angelo. She has five grandchildren, Monty Vic Trimble, Charles Edward Trimble, Michel GeNever Hollis Brady, Jenni Campbell, and Angela Wojtek who is waiting in heaven to welcome her grandmother. Great-grandchildren include, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Rachel, Anna, Hollis, Clayton, Luke, Emma, and Rudy. Ronda was preceded in death by her brother, Horace Young.The family would like to thank the staff members of Royal Estates, Regency House, Kindred Hospice, and especially our sister, Rinda, for taking such good and loving care of our Mother.A graveside service for Ronda is scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 at Robert Lee Cemetery.
