Ruggles, Jr., Ron (Lloyd)Ron (Lloyd) Ruggles, Jr., age 57, of Corning, NY passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at home surrounded by family after a long hard battle with lung cancer.He was born on April 25, 1960 to Lloyd R. Ruggles, Sr. and Tressa M. Davis. He married Theresa Shaut, the love of his life on February 14, 1982 in Hornby, NY. Ron worked as a carpenter for the Carpenter's Union 277. During the last few years of working, he worked for Rycon Construction of Elmira - a company that was like family and who went above and beyond for him after he had to retire. Ron will be remembered for having a huge heart and putting family first. He loved to fish and hunt. He said "the next best thing to fishing is talking about it." He spent his last few years restoring his boat to go to his favorite spot on the family island on Lamoka Lake. He is survived by his father, Lloyd (Kay) Ruggles, Sr.; mother, Tressa (Bruce) Davis; wife, Theresa M. Ruggles; son, Joshua (Jennifer) Ruggles; daughter, Heather (Luke) Ruggles; his grandchildren who he loved more than life itself: Peanut (Ashlynn), Ribs (Caleb), Bug (Nataleigh), Madelyn, Dillon and Olivia; brothers: Raymond "Scott" (Stacey) Ruggles, Brian (Sara) Davis; sisters: Karen Ruggles, Sarah (Greg) Golder and Susan Davis; also many nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on "Humpday" Wednesday, October, 18, 2017 at 11:00 am at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. Friends are invited to attend a luncheon immediately following the funeral service at the Campbell United Methodist Church, Main St. in Campbell.
