(Ret) CSM Robert HatcherClarksville, TNFuneral service for U.S Army (Ret) CSM Robert Louis Hatcher, age 79 of Clarksville, will be Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will be at KY Veterans Cemetery West on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 12 Noon. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home.Robert passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at his residence. He was born on January 30, 1938 in Memphis, TN to Benny Hatcher and Pearline Tate.Robert served in the United States Army and was the recipient of the Legend of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal 6th Award, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four campaign stars, Driver and Mechanic Badge, and three Oversea Service Bars. After spending tours of duty in Korea, Vietnam (2), Germany (3), Fort Sill, OK, The University of Missouri, and Fort Ord, CA, he returned to Clarksville and retired from the Army in June of 1979. He was a life member of the NAACP and past President of the local branch. He has been an officer in the Clarksville Branch for the past 31 years. Robert earned his Bachelor's Degree from Austin Peay State University, and was a retired civil servant, teaching at Fort Campbell High School, with over 21 years of service. Robert was also a member of the Montgomery County Tennessee Rehabilitation Center Advisory Board for 6 years.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Campbell, and daughters, Faye Garnett, and Rita Webb.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillian Hatcher; sons, Robert Louis Hatcher, Jr. (Karla), Carlos C. Campbell; daughters, Denese Walker, and Claudia Adams (Kenneth); sister, Mattie Murphy; grandchildren, Jason, Logan, Alyssa, Greyson, Isaac, and Carlos, Jr.Online condolences may be made at
