Michael WerbaMilton - Michael C. Werba of Milton, NY passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 68 years old. Michael was born on February 28, 1949, in the Bronx. He was the son of the late William & Clara Harter Werba. Michael was a United States Army Veteran, having proudly served in Korea. He worked for IBM as a line troubleshooter in Poughkeepsie and later became a HVAC certified technician. He was a past Commander for the American Legion Viebey-Sutton Post #124. Survivors include his sons; Jason Werba of New Paltz, Todd Werba and his wife Christina of Milton, Michael Werba and his wife Aleksandra of Marlboro, his daughters; Lindsay Werba and her companion Katie Dimsey of New Windsor and step daughter Tara Stant of Marlboro, his brother William Werba and his wife Cheryl of Marlboro, his sister Emily Clarke and her husband James of PA, his grandchildren; Audrey, Grace, Janice, Alison and Caitlin and his beloved furry companion, Daisy. Michael was predeceased by his first wife Janice Majewski Werba and his second wife Theresa Fasano Werba. Michael will be lovingly remembered as a husband, father, step-father, grandfather and friend by all who knew him. To his children he will be most remembered as a hero, fighter, and underdog who would prove that no challenge was impossible. His love for trains, NASCAR, and farm life, and his ability fix practically anything will be permanently engraved within our hearts. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2pm-5pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Monday morning at 10:30am at St. Mary's-St. James Church, 1209 Route 9W, Marlboro with Father Thomas Dicks officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Marlboro. The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to all of the caring RCU and ICU staff at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
