Leonard Charles Irving was born to parents of Tony Virginia Irving and Blake Harris, both deceased. He attended Westinghouse high School in Brooklyn N.Y., after high school he had several jobs until he got a position at the Heineken company in Long island City which he worked for several years. He met his lifelong partner Lavern Delima back in 1977, where they began a lifetime relationship. They share five children, one daughter and five sons. Laverne and Leonard were known as Beans and Frank's. Wherever or  whenever you saw him you saw her and their children. Leonard was a very hard-working man to all that knew him. He worked hard to make sure his children had the best of everything. He loved to dress! His style was smooth like a fly guy, always sharp and classy. This is how he got the name Sweet Peter he would speak his mind even when it wasn't so nice, but it was all out of love. He also loved spending time with his one and only daughter Lakenya Irving Williams. He visited her often, picked her up from work and they would talk for hours. She was daddy's little girl forever! He was her protector and her best friend. He taught his sons to be hard-working and to make sure they looked after their mother, sister and take care of their families. His sons looked up to him because he taught them to stand up for themselves, be strong and never give up. He enjoyed spending time with his only brother (who he would go and cook Thanksgiving for every year, he was his brother's keeper) and grands as well (always buying them things to make them smile).  When it came to his sister's he was very protective (always scolding them like he was their father) again, all love! His nieces and nephews knew he was there for them as well, whenever they needed him he came running. He made his rounds when it came to his family to see if everyone was okay. He was loved by so many and has now become our guardian angel as he was here on earth. He will continue to live in our heart and spirit forever, gone but he will never be forgotten. He is preceded in death by his mother Tony Virginia Irving, his sister Thea Irving and his father Blake Harris. He leaves to mour his precious memories, his lifelong partner Laverne Delima, his only daughter Lakenya Irving Williams and her husband Geralin Williams, his five sons Leonard Charles Irving Jr. and his wife Tanisha Irving, Leon Delima Irving, Laquan Delima Irving, Lmani Delima Irving and his granddaughters Sanayia and Leah Irving, his grandsons Lashawn Irving Jr., Logan Irving and his great granddaughters Promise Josie, Aaminah DeLima, his three sisters Marcia Irving Rana, Grier and her husband Tony Herrington and Rhonda Irving, his only brother Keenan irving and last but certainly not least his girl friend Paulette Jordan and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Gone but never forgotten!
