Joyce E. (Starr) ReynardAGE: 81 • Sayre, PA (formerly Wilmington, DE)Joyce E. Reynard, 81, of Sayre, PA (formerly of Wilmington, DE) loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Robert Packer Hospital. Joyce was born on March 8, 1936 in South Williamsport, PA to the late Kermit and Gladys (Grenell) Starr. She is preceded in death by her sisters Carol Cowing and Florence Reese; her brother-in-law's Jim Cowing, Robert Reese, Jim Boyer, Max Reynard; nephews Mark Robbins, John Reynard; and niece Corrine Erwin. Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Dale C. Reynard; son and daughter-in-law Ty and Sherry Reynard; her very precious grandchildren who she adored dearly Taylor and Travis Reynard; sisters, Connie Robbins (Robert), Rebekah Boyer both of Ralston, PA; sister-in-law Linda VanNess (Jerry Manchester) of Elmira, NY and Joanne Reynard of Burlington, PA; many nieces and nephews including her niece Glady Perry of Canton, PA who can't be thanked enough for all her love and support. Joyce was a 1954 graduate of Canton High School in Canton, PA. She married Dale Reynard on August 20, 1960 and they just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. She was a Class of 1957 graduate of Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing. She started her nursing career in Blossburg, PA working as a nurse in the Operating Room. She moved to Wilmington, DE in 1966 where she worked for Retirement Living company, Forum Group, Delaware Hospice all in Wilmington, DE and as a Long-Term Care Administrator at Stonegates Retirement Village in Greenville, DE where she retired from in 1999. She had been a volunteer at Mom's House in Wilmington, DE and enjoyed helping her son at his business Fairview Gardens located in Newark, DE. Joyce had a love for cooking. She also loved teddy bears and bringing them to life. She enjoyed crafting teddy bears which she sold at craft shows under the name ReBorn Bears. After moving to Northeast Pennsylvania in 1999 to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law and impending grandchild, she volunteered at TACO in Towanda for a number of years. She enjoyed knitting and made hats and gloves for cancer patients and people in need and was a volunteer for Guthrie Hospice, which position she held up until the time of her death. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's academic and athletic events. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Athens United Methodist Church, 118 S. Main St., Athens, PA 18810 at 2:30 pm with Pastor Ann B. Overmiller from Ralston United Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in loving memory of Joyce Reynard to Ralston United Methodist Church, Route 14, Ralston, PA 17763 or to Guthrie Hospice, 421 Tomahawk Road, Towanda, PA 18848.
