Johnny Mack Holmes CHARLESTON - Johnny Mack Holmes aka Papa entered into eternal rest on December 5, 2016. He was born on March 4, 1936 in Conway, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Shirley Ann Jinks Holmes, Mack Holmes (Father), Fleetwood Holmes (Mother) and James Holmes (Brother). He is succeeded by Benjie & Sharon Davis (Daughter), Frank & Sandy Mathena (Daughter), Darrell (Son) & Tina Holmes. He is also succeeded by 4 grandchildren, Candice Boyd and husband David, Brittany Mathena, Drake & Aeva Holmes, 2 great-grandchildren Brandon Boyd and Arianna Mathena-Johnson. He was a loving husband, father and papa to his family and a member of the National Guard. He retired from the Life of Georgia with over thirty years of service. He loved to bowl and play golf. He loved his grandchildren and he will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Chapel 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.
