John Kimbrough Johnson, Jr.Memphis, TNJohn Kimbrough Johnson, Jr., 75, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.He was born on June 26, 1942, in Lexington, Kentucky, to the late Reverend John Kimbrough Johnson and the late Katherine Griffith Johnson. He graduated from Central High School, the University of Mississippi and Vanderbilt University Law School.Kim served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 until 1966, ultimately achieving the rank of Captain, and including an active tour of duty in the war in Vietnam. A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Kim practiced law for almost 50 years in Memphis, Tennessee, for the law firm now known as Lewis, Thomason, King, Krieg & Waldrop, P.C. Kim was also a long-time Elder and Trustee at Idlewild Presbyterian Church. Kim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Ousley Johnson, of Memphis, Tennessee; his sons Thomas K. Johnson (Gina DeLuca), of Windermere, Florida, and Albert D. Johnson (Trinh Vu), of Memphis, Tennessee; his daughter Maria Bui, of Memphis, Tennessee; his grandchildren Nathan K. Johnson, Levi V. Johnson and Beklin L. Johnson; and his brother William Johnson, of Cleveland, Tennessee.The family will receive visitors on Friday, November 10, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Canale Funeral Directors, 2700 Union Avenue Extended. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Idlewild Presbyterian Church, 1750 Union Avenue. Kim will be interred at a later date in a private cemetery on his family farm in Atoka, Tennessee.Memorials may be made to Idlewild Presbyterian Church.
