Helen Hopkins SizemoreEasleyHelen Hopkins Sizemore, widow of the late William Wright Sizemore, was born on November 5, 1922 to the late William Marvin Hopkins and Cleo Dunwoody Hopkins. On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, she passed from this life into glory to be with her precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She graduated from Easley High School and Draughon's Business College, Greenville, SC. After graduation she worked as a GED test administer and English teacher at Donaldson Air Force Base Education Center until its closing. She then worked in the ROTC office at Furman University for 35 years. Upon retirement from Furman, she worked as church secretary for George's Creek Baptist Church, Easley, SC.Mrs. Sizemore was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Easley, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the Chancel Choir, served in the Wesleyan Service Guild, on numerous boards and committees, and as a church historian. She volunteered with United Christian Ministries, Pickens County Meals on Wheels, and UMCOR. She enjoyed working in her yard, playing with her great nieces and nephews, traveling with Uncle Bill, studying her Bible and sharing her faith with others. She is survived by eleven nieces and nephews, whom she considered her children. She was predeceased by two brothers, W. Woodrow Hopkins and John G. Hopkins. The family wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of the Upstate and to the staff of the Memory Care Unit of the Woodlands at Furman for their dedicated service and loving care.A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held at First United Methodist Church, Easley, on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM officiated by the Rev. Dr. Rodney Powell with entombment to follow the service in the mausoleum at Robinson Memorial Gardens on Powdersville Rd., Easley, SC.The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM in the church Fellowship Hall.Memorials may be made to the Missions Fund of First United Methodist Church, The Salvation Army, or Miracle Hill Ministries.The family will be at their respective homes.Condolences may be expressed online by visiting www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or in person at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, which is assisting the family.
