Gail HennesseyChelsea - Gail Hennessey, 77, a longtime resident of Chelsea, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie.Gail was born on May 16, 1939 in Beacon the daughter of the late William and Ruth Smith Hennessey. Gail attended St. John the Evangelist School in Beacon, Mount St. Mary's High School and for her senior year, Beacon High School. As a young girl she sang in the children's choir at St. John's, was a member of the Junior Catholic Daughters of America and was a member of the Girl Scouts in Beacon. She was a past member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She taught CCD at St. Mary's School in Fishkill. Gail enjoyed piano and traveling. Gail worked as a Calculations Clerk at Matteawan State Hospital and later at Fishkill Correctional Facility.Gail is survived by her sisters, Darlene Hustis and her husband, Peter of Fishkill and Cheryl VanPatten and her husband, Shannon of CA; her nephews, Peter Hustis, Jr. and his wife, Tiffany of CT and their children, Ryan, Tristan and Gavin Hustis and Scott Hustis and his wife, Lisa of NYC and their son, Landon; her niece, Tiffany Haynes of CA and her children, Zoe, Lucien and Dahlia Ives; and several cousins. Gail had many friends, but in particular she had 3 friends, who for many years were so giving and so helpful to her. The family thanks - Judy Keating of Lagrangeville, Lorraine McGimpsey of Wappingers Falls and Suzette Pettorossi of Beacon.The family will receive their friends on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon.
