Fred K. HicksFred K. Hicks, age 96 of Akron, Ohio, died on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 5:15 p.m. at Altercare of Hartville. He was born on January 20, 1920 in Murray County, Georgia, the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Mae Keith Hicks.Mr. Hicks was a rubber worker at Good Year for 40 years, retiring on February 1, 1982. Fred liked to hunt, fish, garden, and spend time with his Amish friends, Jonas and Sarah.Survivors include his son, Thomas Lee (Mary Jo) Hicks of Akron, and granddaughter, Jamie Hicks; his step-son, Marvin (Frances) Hilley, Sr. of Akron; and step-grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Lepsesty, Jennifer Riggs, and Karla (Michael) Goudy; and step-great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Thomas, Hannah, and Michael.Other than his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his wives, Pauline and Irene; son, Gerald Hicks; step-grandson, Marvin Hilley, Jr.; and step-great-granddaughter, Summer Goudy.
