Edwin Shackelton Jr.LaGrange - Edwin J. Shackelton Jr., 75 of the Town of LaGrange, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.One of 10 children, Ed was born on April 2,1942 in Unionville N.Y., the son of Hazel Carr Shackelton and Edwin J. Shackelton Sr.On April 20, 1971, he married the love of his life, Margo VanVoorhis. Mrs. Shackelton survives at home.In addition to his wife Margo, Ed leaves behind his four loving children; Dawn Revelle, Tracey Perry, Kellie Alexander Shackelton, and James E. Shackelton, and their spouses; his 7 grandchildren; his 3 great grandchildren; his sister, Pauline Shackelton and an abundance of nieces and nephews who loved him.Ed was a truck driver who worked at Star Gas and Taconic Wholesale Grocers, among other businesses. In his retirement he delivered auto parts for Auto Part International. Ed was famous for knowing just about every street and road in Dutchess County and beyond, and could give directions to get you anywhere! He was a hard working man who loved his family and provided for them using his imagination as well as his muscles!
