Newell, David A.David A. Newell, age 55, of Painted Post, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Robert Packer Hospital. He was born on May 24, 1961 in Corning, the son of Leland A. and Shelain (Prince) Newell. He married Dawn M. Harrington on August 7, 1993 in Addison. David was a loving son, husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was a construction worker since the age of 16 at Hakes Construction and then later at Edgers Enterprise and he was an outdoors man who loved hunting. David was an avid Buffalo Bills fan having held season tickets every year since 1999. He enjoyed breakfast with friends, golfing with friends, bowling, and he was a member of the YMCA having gone there on a daily basis. David liked to travel to his favorite places including Las Vegas and Disney World and he was a truck enthusiast especially being proud of his Dodge truck and keeping it immaculate. Most of all he made sure he put the needs of family and friends before his own and he did his best to make sure they were all included and having fun. David loved the companionship he had with his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Dawn, sons, David Newell Jr of Addison, and Brian Newell of Corning, daughter, Brooke Newell of Painted Post, his mother Shelain Newell of Painted Post, brother, Leland (Tia Deming) Newell of Campbell, grandchildren he loved more than anything, Lily and Brady Newell of Addison, brothers-in-law, Bruce (Sharon) Harrington of Campbell and Denny Harrington of Leicester, NY, mother-in-law, Barbara (Ken) Morseman of Addison, nieces and nephews, Iziah, Sydney, Vania, and Jaida, Newell and Wade, Shannon, Matthew, and Morganne Harrington. David was predeceased by his father, Leland A. Newell on May 17, 2012. Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 East Pulteney Street, Corning, on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
