Holley, Cheryl M. SCOTIA Cheryl M. Gleason Holley, 53, died suddenly on Sunday, November 6, 2016. She was born on September 13, 1963 to the late Gerald J. Gleason, Sr. and Patricia Short Gleason and raised in Green Island and Cohoes, N.Y. Cheryl graduated from Heatly High School in Green Island and received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Russell Sage College in Troy. She was a teacher for over 30 years and began her career teaching in Albany area Catholic schools and taught for 25 years at the Thomas O'Brien Academy of Science and Technology in Albany. Cheryl loved teaching and was proud of all her student's accomplishments and many kept in touch with her after moving on from TOAST. She was proudest of her daughter, Maggie, and the wonderful young woman she has become. She was the loving wife of Mark Holley; beloved mother of Margaret P. (Maggie) Holley; dear sister to Daniel Gleason, Douglas Gleason (Harriet), Michael Gleason (Susan Wagner), Mark Gleason (Karen), James Gleason and Kristin (Andrea) Gleason; sister-in-law to David (Elaine) Holley, Karen Holley and Sherri Gleason; daughter-in-law of David M. Holley and dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. Cheryl was also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her parents, Cheryl was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Margaret Holley, her brother, Gerald J. Gleason, Jr. and her niece, Mary Angel Gleason. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated for Cheryl at St. Joseph's Church in Scotia on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Thomas O'Brien Academy of Science and Technology Library Fund.
