Mrs. Agnes (Jweid) Cerro 1926 - 2016Beloved Wife, Mother and GrandmotherWHITESBORO - Mrs. Agnes (Jweid) Cerro, age 90, of Whitesboro, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016, at the Eastern Star Home, with the love and support of her family.She was born on April 21, 1926, in Utica, a daughter of the late George and Zahida (Mary) Hallak Jweid, and was educated in local schools.On June 26, 1962, she was joined in marriage to Vincent N. "Whitey" Cerro, a blessed union of 50 years, until his passing on September 4, 2012.Agnes was the co-owner and operator, alongside her husband, Vincent "Whitey", of Whitey's Luncheonette and Cerro's Luncheonette, on Bleecker St., as well as the Glenn Motel for many years, until her retirement. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, whose life centered around her family. A kind and hard working woman, she will be sadly missed by her beloved family, but never forgotten.Surviving are her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Pasquale Leone, of Whitesboro; two cherished grandchildren, Russell and Lindsey Leone; two sisters, Jean Zombik and Mary Bates, both of Rochester; one brother, Francis Jweid, of Utica; her in-laws, Nicholas and Janet Cerro, of New Hartford, and Carmelita and William McCabe of FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Eastern Star Home, Oriskany, with the Rev. Joseph Salerno officiating. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass.
