Wilma Grace Waggoner Cox, 92, passed away on October 5, 2016 at her home in El Paso, Texas. She was born on January 21, 1924, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to William and Grace Waggoner. She grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1945. Wilma married Robert B. Cox on February 11, 1948. They moved to El Paso, Texas in 1961 where they opened the Charcoaler Drive-In. They ran the Charcoaler as a team. She handled the financial side while Bob ran the day to day operations. They were happily married for 55 years until his death in 2003. Wilma loved playing bridge with friends, baking, singing in the choir, painting ceramics, drawing floor plans, doing needlework, and spending time with her family. Wilma was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother Bud Waggoner; and a grandson Travis Cox. She is survived by her four children: daughter Sharon Cox of Ft. Worth, TX; son Robert B. Cox, Jr. of El Paso, TX; son Bill (Resi) Cox of Ft. Worth, TX; and daughter Susan (Doug) of Kingwood, TX. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: John (Neely) Birk, Mark Birk, Jenny (Jayk) Quinn, William Woodul, Megan (Hunter) Guchereau, Christi (Ben) Garrison, Jillian Cox, and Taylor Cox, and four great grandchildren: Ryan Birk, Blake Birk, Avery Quinn, and Killian Quinn. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00pm on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home -West. Graveside Service will be held at 9:30am, Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Road, Santa Teresa, NM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Ladder Alliance, 1100 Hemphill Street, Ft. Worth, TX 76104 or to , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
