He was born on August 8, 1930 in Burkesville, KY.He is survived by his wife, Ophelia Powell Coop of Louisville, KY; 2 sons, Gregory Van (Eva) Coop of Chicago, IL, Troy Sean Coop of Burlington KY; 3 sisters, Helen Melton of Charlestown, IN, Marie Cantrell of Louisville, KY, Betty Jo Coop of Columbia, KY; 3 grandchildren, Carissa Coop, Mikaela Coop and Mackenzie Coop.He was a member of Farmdale Baptist Church in Louisville, KY, retired from General Electric in Louisville, KY, Manheim in Clarksville, IN, Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1958.Funeral service: Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. CST at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY.
