We are gathered here today to bid farewell to Willie McCants, born on September 4th, 1948 in Wildwood, Florida. Willie lived a full and colorful life, filled with laughter, love, and eight children who claim they turned out just fine despite their upbringing.
Willie was known for his expertise in navigating the roads as a bus driver, always taking the scenic route whether his passengers liked it or not. He studied at JRE Lee High School, where he was voted "Most Likely to Get Lost on a Field Trip."
Despite his questionable sense of direction, Willie managed to raise a large and lively family, leaving a legacy of chaos and mayhem in his wake. His children will always remember the time he got them lost on a road trip and blamed it on the GPS.
Willie's hobbies included getting lost in the wilderness, befriending stray cats, and arguing with telemarketers for fun. He had a special talent for telling tall tales and making everyone laugh, even when the situation called for seriousness.
Unfortunately, Willie's final journey led him to the end of his road on November 11th, 2025, when he lost his battle with cancer. Despite his stubbornness and refusal to ask for directions, Willie will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you raise a glass in Willie's honor and share your favorite "Willie-ism" with those around you. Just remember to turn left at the big oak tree and watch out for that pothole – Willie wouldn't want you to get lost on the way.
You can to the family or in memory of Willie McCants .
