Willie Buckner, 74, of Pontiac, Michigan, passed on November 17, 2021. Willie was born on August 25, 1947. A twin to the late Willie Mae Jones and son to the late Elmer sr, Mary (Simpson) Buckner, born in Montgomery Alabama. Willie Jim was the second child of 9 children. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. He was educated in the Montgomery school system. He gained tenure at General Motors and worked for several years before retiring in 2012. Willie was married twice. He met and married Dorothy Draper in March of 1968 to this union 3 children were added. Later he met and married Ernestine Johnson in October of 1977. To this union 3 children were born. Willie loved and nourished each one of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed working and playing softball. He was a master at playing dominos and darts. On Wednesday, November 17, 2021 the angel of mercy came into his room and gently closed his eyes and took him to his eternal home. Willie leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Wanda Draper-Martin, Michelle Draper, and Thomra Scott. Three sons, Vincent L. Buckner Willie Jim Buckner Jr., and Cleinte Buckner(all of Pontiac, Mi). One sister, JoAnn Thompson, Pastor Sylvester Thompson(of Pontiac, Mi). Nineteen grandchildre, and sixteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His best friend "Smokey," Maurice Thomas, Sr.
