Willie Edward Burkes, Jr. was born July 21, 1958 to Willie Edward Burkes, Sr. and Billie Jean.  He received his early education from Marshall Independent School District before moving to Dallas, Texas, where he attended Madison High School. 

Willie accepted Christ at a early age and was a member of Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ.

He loved his family, friends, and adored his grandchildren.  Anyone who knew Willie, knows that he enjoyed watching westerns and listening to Michael Jackson.

Willie Burkes, Jr. departed this earlly life on September 7, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Edward Burkes, Sr., his mother, Billie Jean Ingram, his brother, David Matthews, and his son, Willie Edward Burkes III.

Willie leaves to cherish his loving memories: two daughters, Keisha Tucker and LaShonda Tucker; five sisters, Annette Ingram, Kathy Ingram, Cynthia Ingram, Mary Faye Ingram, and Freddie May Ingram; one brother, Charles Matthews; grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends that loved him dearly.
