William was born on June 6, 1962, to Willis and Janet Terry. He married the love of his life, Marion Scott, in 2017. Together, they raised six children: Anthony, Daniel, Otis, Adrienne, Allyne, and William Jr.

William was a dedicated employee of the City of Chicago and was known for his hard work and dedication to his job. He attended Crane Tech High School and graduated in 1980.

In his free time, William enjoyed shooting pool and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, and love for his grandchildren.
