William (Bill) E. SlusserSeptember 10, 2017William Eugene Slusser (Bill) passed peacefully on September 10, 2017 at the age of 87. He was born on September 1, 1930 in Huntington, Indiana to Bernadine and Elmer Slusser. Bill served in the Army from 1950 -1952 and was stationed in Germany during the start of the Cold War. Bill was a long-time resident of Cape Coral having moved his family away from Indian's harsh winters in 1970. At age 40 he became an avid golfer and enjoyed weekly outings with his "gang" of buddies. Bill was quite skilled at furniture repair and restoration. He worked at various furniture stores throughout his career including Carriage House and Kane's. In later years he worked as a home inspector for various banks and insurance companies. He was known by all as genuinely friendly and an overall good soul. He stressed "common sense" solutions to problems. His wife of 39 years, Faith Ann Slusser, preceded him in death as did a sister, Beverly Smith. He is survived by another sister Zelma Slusser, a son Scott (Lori) Slusser and two grandchildren Eric and Kristen Slusser. A private service for family members will be held at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
