Phillips, WilliamWilliam H. Phillips, age 83, of Menasha, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Bill was born on February 13, 1934 in Neenah, the son of Herschel G. and Bernice (Shreve) Phillips. He graduated from Menasha High School in 1952 and married his high school sweetheart, Jane B. Heinz. Together they welcomed 6 beautiful children; 3 girls, Cindy, Cherie and Cathy, and 3 boys, K.C. (William), Noel, and David, growing their perfect loving family. William was employed at Wisconsin Container Corp., Menasha and Weyerhauser Corp., Manitowoc. In 1961, he started Phillips Painting Service and expanded into remodeling, building and maintenance, which quickly became a very successful business that he shined at. He was a part-time basketball coach in the Menasha Public School System and was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church as an usher, member of the Parish Council, and Building and Grounds Chairman over the years. After moving to the beautiful Menasha Island, he joined St. Patrick Catholic Church and became an active member involved with maintenance and initiated the most successful annual Christmas tree sale. Among his favorite hobbies were raising and enjoying his children, playing cribbage and writing beautiful poetry to the love of his life, Janey, who has kept each one in her "Sweet Memories Book".William is survived by his loving wife, Janey of 65 years, his daughters, Cindy (Dave) Pfeifer, Neenah; Cathy (Dean) Akavickas, Oshkosh; his sons, K.C. "William" of Simi Valley, CA.; Noel (Laura) of Illinois and David of Menasha. He is also survived by 10 much loved grandchildren.William was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Cherie Phillips Castillo, his parents, his in-laws, George (Addie) Heinz, Daisy (Bob) Spellman, and Phyllis (Marty) Verhoven.There will be no memorial service at this time, but your prayer to guide him into Heaven would be appreciated.
