William Matthews, beloved son of Patricia Matthews, was born on March 16, 1963 in Richmond, Virginia. He passed away on June 3, 2024 in Henderson, North Carolina.

Preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Matthews, William is survived by his mother, Patricia Matthews of Henderson, NC, his two loving children, Lacy Matthews ( and partner, Carrie) of Roxboro and Tiffany Matthews (and partner, Nathan) of Hillsborough and two grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 sisters and 4 brothers, Sheryl McAlpin (the late GW McAlpin) of Quincey, FL, Wanda Tysinger (spouse, Marshall) of Bullock, NC, his twin brother Lee Matthews (partner, Linda) of Summerfield, FL, Ricky Matthews ( and spouse, Christy) of Stovall, NC, Micheal Matthews ( and spouse, Elizabeth) of Bracey, VA, Dale Matthews (and spouse, Tammie) of Bullock, NC, and sister Melissa Matthews of Williamsburg, VA. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

William will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
