William LangPleasant Valley - William "Bill" Lang Jr., 82, of Pleasant Valley passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Lutheran Care Center after a short illness. Bill was born on August 23, 1935 in Yonkers, NY to the late William Lang Sr., and Lucille Sampson Lang.Bill graduated from Saunders Trade School in Yonkers, NY. After moving to Westchester County he graduated from Pleasantville High School, where he was on the Varsity baseball and basketball team.Bill was involved with the Pleasant Valley Men's Softball League and the Pleasant Valley Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid fisher, hunter and outdoors man.He owned and operated William Lang Tree Service and Tree Care and Logging Inc. for many years until his retirement. He was the founder of Hudson Valley Arborist Association.Bill is survived by his children; Penny Lang Nelson and her husband, Scott, Betsy Lang and Don Becker, and William Lang III "Skip", grandchildren; Nicholas Kalevas, Gus Kalevas and his wife, Julia, William "Kyle" Lang IV, Nicole Lang, Krista Lang Becker and Brianna Lang Becker, great granddaughter; Katerina Barbara Kalevas, brother in law and wife William and Karin Bogle of Poughkeepsie; he is also survived by his former wife, Barbara Lang Hutchison with whom he has lived with for the last 10 years.Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 29, 2017, from 4 to 7PM, at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley, NY 12569. Funeral services will be held at 6PM at the funeral home.
