William H. McIntyre Jr. MOREHEAD CITY - William H. McIntyre, Jr., 80, of Morehead City, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at his home. A private service will be held at a later date.Mr. McIntyre was born on December 28, 1935 in Richmond, VA to William and Eleanor McIntyre. He was a graduate of N.C. State University and served his country in the U.S. Navy. Mr. McIntyre served in VP-44 on P5M-2 Marlins and also aboard the USS Sierra AD-18. He was employed as a safety engineer with Travelers Insurance Co. until his retirement in 1991.He is survived by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Stokes of Chicago, IL; three sons, William H. McIntyre, III of Mooresville, Joe McIntyre of Mount Pleasant, SC, Jeffrey McIntyre of Lexington, SC; a sister Eleanor "Honey" Brown of Rocky Mount, seven grandchildren and two nieces.In addition to his parents, his wife, Beverly Gooch McIntyre, preceded him in death.Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. of Morehead City.
