William Gray IIWilliam "Steve" Gray II passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana after a courageous battle with cancer.Steve was born on June 26, 1955 in Beech Grove, Indiana to William S. and Doris (King) Gray. He married Rhonda Lynn Payne on August 31, 1974 in Lafayette, Indiana. Professionally, Steve was the owner and operator of Steve Gray Masonry in the Lafayette area for over 35 years.Steve was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, golfing and nature. He loved music which was a very important part of his life. He loved spending time with family and friends. Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew him.He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rhonda; his mother Doris; daughter, Angela Leigh "Angie" (Grant) Carwile of Charleston, SC; granddaughter, Mollie Elizabeth Ping of Charleston, SC; sisters, Linda Neal of Bringhurst, IN and Jane McKnight (Curt) of Monticello, IN. Steve is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.Steve was preceded in death by his father, William.A Celebration of Life will take place at 4 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Hippensteel Funeral Home, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Celebrant Carla Ellis will officiate.
