He was predeceased by : his wife Robin Trent Light. He is survived by : his sons, Preston Light and Wesley Light; his parents, Robert "Bob" Light and Shirley Vicars Light; and his sister Sherry Light.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 30th 2023 from 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM and on Wednesday, May 31st 2023 at 10:50 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 30th 2023 at 7:00 PM at the Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services (800 Truxton Dr, Kingsport, TN 37660). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 31st 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Hill Memorial Park (800 Truxton Dr, Kingsport, TN 37660).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lynn Garden Baptist Church, 301 May Ave., Kingsport, TN 37665.
