It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Willard Lee Shimel who was born on March 14, 1964 in Independence Missouri United States and passed away on July 22,2023. He was the beloved son of Willard Adin of Kansas City Missouri and Wanda Shimel of Chillicothe Missouri.Willard was a loving brother, son, and uncle. He leaves behind legacy of love and beautiful memories for his family and friends to cherish forever.Willard attended Maryville High School where he pursed his education with great vigor. He was motivated and dedicated student earning his High School Diploma in 1980. During this time at Maryville High School he formed lifelong friendships and was known for his warmth and kindness to everyone he encountered. After completing his education Willard 's calling was to serve his country which led him to enlist in the U.S. Navy. He dutifully served his nation demonstrating exceptional bravery and commitment throughout his military career. Willard service in the U.S.Navy was marked by honor and integrity making his family incredibly proud and grateful for his sacrifice. Willard had a contagious zest for life exemplified by his dedication to his family, friends, and community. His warm smile and unique sense of humor brought joy to those around him.When he wasn't working Willard enjoyed spending time with his family creating cherished memories that will be forever etched in our hearts. Whether it was attending school events or family vacations or simply gathering together for a meal he made sure that his loved ones felt unconditional love and support. Willard is survived by one brother Russell Dale Mortenson of San Diego California, two sisters Jackie Irene Campbell of Milan Mo, Valerie Kay Owen's of Maryville, four nephews Stephen Pauley of Milan Mo, Ricky Pauley of St Joseph Mo, Shane and Dillion Owens both of Maryville Missouri, five nieces Melissa Sharr of Milan Mo, April Sharr of Independence Mo, Renee and Selina Owens both of Maryville Mo. Willard's sudden departure had left a void in the lives of those who knew him and loved him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family.As we mourn Willard's passing let us remember his beautiful spirit his unwavering love, and his genuine kindness. May his soul find eternal rest and may his memory bring comfort and solance to all those who mourn his loss
