Celebration of the Life of Willa Belle Watts Scott
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Willa Belle Scott, who was born on September 11, 1933, in Tuscaloosa, AL to her parents Lewis and Edna Watts. Willa peacefully passed away on June 29, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
Willa was introduced to the love of her life, Frank Douglas Scott, by her sister, Daisy Lafalise. They spent ____ years together, living in Brooklyn, _____ and in their beautiful home in Freeport. Frank predeceased Willa in November of 2012.
Willa graduated from Industrial High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1951. She continued her education at Hostra University in Hempstead, NY.
Willa worked at the New York Telephone Company until her retirement in 1992. She also dedicated her time to the Roosevelt Public School System, where she served as a Trustee, as well as both Vice-President and President of the School Board for many years.
Willa had many hobbies, including traveling, participating actively in organizations at her church home, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and spending time with family and friends.
She was called home by the Lord on June 29, 2024, to be reunited with her late husband, parents, brothers, and sister. Willa will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
