Wesley Dean Bair Jr.Wesley D. Bair passed away on May 10, 2017. He was born on January 18, 1933 to Dean and Beatrice Bair in Marinette, WI. He was a 1951 graduate of Marinette High School, Marinette, WI. Wes is also a graduate of Illinois State University with a bachelors (1955) and masters (1960) degrees. He is also a graduate of University of Arkansas (1960) with a doctorate degree.With a career of 42 years in higher education, his final 35 years (1968-2002) were at Missouri State University as a member of the department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Prior to this he was a member of the physical education faculty at Western Illinois University for seven years. As a physical educator, Wes taught many subjects and activities and coached several sports. He was devoted to his students and colleagues.Wes was inducted into the Illinois State University Athletic Hall of Fame for his football achievements. Surviving Wes is a brother, Sam Bair, and his wife Ondina and their children, Lewis, Larry, Johanna and Laura all of Santa Fe, NM. Wes was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Phyllis (Fehlhaber) Bair (2002) and by his wife of three years, Joan (Popendick) Bair (1957). Also preceding him in death were his parents Dean and Beatrice Bair and a brother Harold. Cremation is under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Interment will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO. at a latter date.
