Walter Canada Smith, Jr, 72, was born to the late Walter C. Smith, Sr and Ruby L. Smith on March 26,1948 in Clayton, NC. He departed this this earthly life on June 30, 2020 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC.

He graduated from Willam Mason Cooper High School in Clayton, NC in 1966. A few years after graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and enjoyed traveling & seeing other places.

He worked at auto shops and tire companies for many years.

Walter enjoyed fishing with friends, going to the race track, cookouts, telling jokes, watching football and movies on television. One of his greatest joys was attending the Smith Family Reunion.

He is survived by two sons, Darian Smith and Demetrius Smith; one granddaughter, Brianna Tinsley; one sister, Dorothy C. Sanders; a partner, Nora Allen; an ex wife, Buelah Smith Meekins; four aunts; Annie M. Sanders, Kim Sanders, Corina Smith and Geneva Badger; two uncles, John E. Sanders, Don H. Smith; cousins and friends.
