It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter McCoy on December 20, 2024, in Chesapeake, Virginia. He was born on February 6, 1966, to his loving parents Gerald and Wanda McCoy.

Walter leaves behind his partner Deriane Lavenge, whom he shared many happy years with. He was a devoted father to his two children, Renee and Darian McCoy.

Walter had a zest for life and was a true sports enthusiast. He excelled in basketball, lacrosse, and tennis during his time at Southern Normal High School.

Despite his love for sports, Walter's biggest accomplishment was his family. He adored his three grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.

Walter will be remembered for his contagious laughter, love for life, and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
