Wade L. FordSan AngeloWade L. Ford, 83, passed away at 6:47 p.m. Nov. 7, 2016, surrounded by family at San Angelo Community Medical Center. He was born on Jan. 22, 1933, in San Angelo to Wade Ozelle and Zula Mae Armour Ford. He graduated from Lake View High School in 1951 and attended San Angelo College. Wade was a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.On June 11, 1955, Wade married his high school sweetheart, Betty Sue Cauley, in San Angelo where they have resided for 61 years. They have two daughters. Wade was the co-owner and manager of Ford Brothers Aluminum Body Works. He became involved in auto restoration, specializing in vintage Rolls Royces and other rare cars. He won many trophies and awards for his work, and became renowned for his expertise and craftsmanship in antique automobile restoration. Wade was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America for more than 40 years. He also attended Lifepoint Baptist Church. He was a loyal and trusted friend and a very loving husband, father and grandfather. Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Wade O. and Zula Ford; infant sister Daphne; brother-in-law Orval Earl Cauley; and several aunts and uncles.He is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Ford of San Angelo; his oldest daughter, Brenda King and son-in-law Tony of Flower Mound, Texas; his youngest daughter, Stephanie Walden and son-in-law, Chad of San Angelo; granddaughter Lauren King of Flower Mound, Texas; and grandson Cole Walden, of San Angelo. Other survivors include a brother, C.J. Ford, and wife Joyce; and two sisters, Charlene Cauley and husband Leo and Betty Butts, and husband, Don all of San Angelo; and brothers and sisters-in-law include Bob and Patsy Waren, Lehman and Roxie Cauley and Ronnie and Sandra Bruton, all of San Angelo. Wade also has many nephews and nieces as well as many great-nephews and great-nieces. Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jay Clatworthy officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Harper Funeral Home. Nephews will be pallbearers for the service.
