Harlingen, TX - Virginio Leal Villarreal, 67, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, February 2, 2017, in Harlingen, Texas. He was born on September 30, 1949 to Enrique and Olivia Villarreal. Virginio was a lifetime resident of Harlingen and a member of the Pioneer Cameron County Family. He held positions with the City of Harlingen and the Harlingen I.S.D. and was retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Virginio was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 2785 with 14 years of service.He is preceded in death by his parents, Enrique Villarreal and Olivia Leal Villarreal; siblings, Joe Villarreal (Imelda), Lydia Morales, Enrique Villarreal, Jr., Carmelita Anguiano, and Victoria Villarreal.Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Abelino Villarreal (Irene) and Noemi Camacho (Humberto); along with many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m.Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
