Virginia Rose ColemanVirginia Rose Coleman, Age 96, of Springfield, MO, passed away in Highland village, TX, on April 7th, 2017. She was born on May 11th, 1920, in Monett, MO, the daughter of Merritt and Alma Smith. Virginia grew up in Monett and was united in marriage to Raymond Coleman on August 2nd, 1941, in Bryan, Ohio. She worked as a bookkeeper for Wilks Lumber Company and attended the First Methodist Church.They moved to Springfield in 1968, where Raymond worked in the post office. Virginia was an avid golfer and bridge player and made many wonderful friends. They lived in Springfield for 46 years and were members of Grace United Methodist Church for 50 years.She is survived by her husband, Raymond, their daughter, Connie and son-in-law Roger Gray, grandchildren, Steven Gray and his wife Tammy, Susan Gray Whaples and her husband Mike, and 5 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madison, Kaitlyn Gray, Daley and Kaitlyn Whaples.A funeral service will be held at the Springfield Veterans Cemetery on April 17th at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be given to Grace United Methodist Church, Springfield.
