Virginia L. McClellandPort HuronVirginia L. McClelland, 82, of Port Huron passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 19, 1934 in Lexington Twp., Michigan to the late Arthur and Eleanor (Carey) McClelland.Virginia was a graduate from Croswell-Lexington High School in 1953, she went to Port Huron Junior College then on to Eastern Michigan University receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Education and then her Master's Degree. She started teaching in Cash County School, then went on to teach at Kemp Country School. Virginia taught at Port Huron Public School for over 30 years, teaching 1st & 3rd grade at Lakeport Elementary and Garfield Elementary School.  Virginia loved to travel and take vacations with her nieces, nephews and family. She never missed any weddings or family gatherings.She was member and President of AAUW - Life, over 50 year member of Delta Capa Gama, several book club and love to bowl in her bowling league.  Virginia was a member of Lakeshore Presbyterian Church Fort Gratiot.  She is survived by sisters; Ellen (William) Burns, of Port Sanilac, Beth (Jon) Ryan, of Cottonwood, AZ., 16 nieces and nephews and several other friends and family. She was preceded in death by sister in law; Ethel McClelland and a brother, James McClelland.A memorial service will be held at Lakeshore Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bill Davis officiating.   Memorials may be made to Lakeshore Presbyterian Church.
