Virginia FusdigianVirginia L. Fusdigian, 77, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born on February 15, 1939 in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, at St. Paul's Senior Center, Belleville, Ill.Virginia attended and graduated from East St. Louis High School and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in St. Louis, Mo., after many years of service. In retirement, she enjoyed gardening and flowers. Virginia attended St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church in Granite City, Ill., where she was a member of the choir. She also participated in other choir groups in the area.She was preceded in death by her parents, Krekor and Lucy, nee Horabadian, Fusdigian; her sister, Rose Ohanesian; and three half brothers, George Johnson, Harry Johnson, and Leo Johnson. She is survived by her brother, Arman Festigian of Fairview Heights, Ill.; a nephew, Jerrold (Florence) Johnson of New Market, Tenn.; a niece, Pollyanne (Robert) McCann of Wood River, Ill.; her great nephew, Jay (Kellie) Johnson of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and her great-niece, Virginia (Bradley) Laux of Morehead, Ky.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church, Granite City, Ill.
