Virgil BrowneVirgil Browne, 94, of Mooresville, NC, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC.He was born on November 27, 1922 in Ireland, to the late Neil and Elizabeth Reid Browne. Before coming to America in 1949, he was a plumber in England, Ireland, and Wales. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in New Jersey and also a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville, NC. Mr. Browne enjoyed tinkering in the garage, working outside, and learned the tricks of many trades.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Kevin Browne, Brendan Browne; and 14 siblings.He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Mills Browne; children, Elizabeth Browne of E. Lansing, MI, Maureen Browne of Richmond, VA, Neil Browne of Mooresville, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 2 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville, NC. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park.
