Virgal Berryhill, 97, of Springfield, Illinois (formerly of Robinson Il), passed away on January, 29 2021. Virgal was born on May 09, 1925 in Kiefer Oklahoma to Charles L. and Flossie (O'Dell) Berryhill.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Berryhill of Springfield and Elaine (Charles) Sampson of Mahomet, Il, former son-in-law, Russell Simmons of Harrisburg, Il; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife and mother of his three daughters, Betty Berryhill; and on daughter, Marilyn Ellis.

Virgal grew up in Oklahoma and retired in Robinson, Il. He worked for Marathon Oil for 46 years, ending his career as a production foreman. He enjoyed playing the fiddle in a Robinson Blue Grass Band.

Virgal was also a United States Marine Corps veteran serving during World War II, from December 1943 to February 1946 in the Pacific.

He was always an Okie who enjoyed a simple, good life and was always ready to help someone in need.
