Vincent A. QuinnGlen RockVincent A. Quinn, 97, died Wednesday, March 15, 2016 at Manor Care North, following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Leona M. (Walker) Quinn.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday March 21, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N Constitution Ave., New Freedom, with the Rev. Robert A. Yohe, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, and from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.Mr. Quinn was born on June 16, 1918 in Freeland, Pa., a son of the late Edward V. and Julia (Deitch) Quinn.He graduated from St. Ann's Catholic High School in Freeland and came to Glen Rock in 1937 at age 19 to work at the CCC Camp. He was U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a Staff Sergeant with the 339th Field Artillery Battalion in Italy. Vincent retired from Teledyne Readco in York after 42 years of employment, where he worked as a Sheet Metal Layout Person.He was a was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403 and the Jefferson Chapter #3699 of AARP.He leaves two daughters, Patricia A. Smith and her husband, Melvin of York, and Donna R. Seiler and her husband, James of Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren, Douglas Smith, Shawn Smith, and Tiffany Tindle; a step-grandson, Eric Seiler; a great-grandson, Nathan Smith; two step great-granddaughters, Zoe Seiler and Alexa Seiler; a sister, Ann Gregory of Weatherly, Pa.; a brother, James Quinn of Freeland; and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Helen Hallet, Mary Thrash, and Grace Komishock; and a brother, Joseph Quinn.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N Constitution Ave., New Freedom, PA 17349.Condolences may be shared at geiple.com
