Victor Esteban SalasOxnardVictor Esteban Salas went home to see the Lord on July 9th, 2017 in Salinas, California at the age of 67, with his daughters by his side.Victor is survived by his daughters, Amy Salas, of Marina, California and Victoria Salas Salcedo, of San Jose, California, as well as his grandchildren, Victor and Tonantzin Salcedo. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Salas (Dlouhy), of Santa Maria, California.Victor was born on April 17, 1950 in Ventura, California to Juana (Jennie) Partida Vargas and Jose Salas of Oxnard, California. He graduated with Associate of Science degrees from Ventura College and Santa Barbara City College. He married the love of his life, Mary, on March 17, 1980. After college, Victor worked for the Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services. Upon returning to the workforce, after his wife's passing, he began work as an accountant at Allan Hancock College. In 2005, he moved to Marina, California to work for the University Corporation at Monterey Bay and retired in January of 2017.A viewing is scheduled for 5 pm on July 27th followed by a rosary service at 7 pm, both at Reardon Funeral Home in Oxnard, California. A funeral mass is scheduled at 9:30am on July 28th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Oxnard, California. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Victor's life.
