Veronica Rae "Vero" Garcia, 35, was born on Aug. 27, 1981, in Las Vegas and passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 at the family home in Anton Chico.A Catholic, she attended Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. She graduated from Robertson High School, where she was a cheerleader and she remained as a cheerleader for her children and many others throughout her life.She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Oralia Montaño and maternal great-grandmother, Bernarda "Lala" Garcia.She is survived by her children, Desiree, Dominic and Daisha Lucero, all of Anton Chico; and her friend, the father of her children, Lawrence Lucero of Anton Chico; her parents, Della Minner and husband, Rick, of Las Vegas; and Elizabeth and Leroy "Roy" Lucero of Anton Chico; godparents, Tony Maes, Eileen Ortiz and husband, Danny, and Jessica Garcia–Salinas; her siblings, Sarah and Levi Fetty of Albuquerque, Petrolino "Pete" Garcia and Retta of Albuquerque, Jonathan and Nicole Lucero of Anton Chico and Stephanie Tafoya of Las Vegas; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends.Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at the San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as casket bearers: Jonathan Lucero, Diego Garcia–Trujillo, Justin Garcia, Brian Gonzales, Danny Ortiz and LD Ortiz.
