1926 ~ 2016Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Vernie James Loveless Jr, 89, of North Salt Lake died on November 24, 2016 in Bountiful, Utah. He was born on November 28, 1926 in Orem, Utah to Lurleen Goates Loveless and Vernie James Loveless Sr.Vern worked at a young age on his family's farm, enlisting in the United States Navy after graduating from high school; he was a veteran of the Korean War and World War II. Vern married Shirley and later divorced. He married Grace Giatras on August 16th, 1968 spending 48 wonderful years with "his girl." He worked for many years as a superintendent manufacturing mobile homes, finally retiring at the age of eighty. He enjoyed fishing with his son-in-law Don at Strawberry, working in his yard (always very proud of his tomatoes, zucchini, and garlic!) and monthly excursions to Wendover on the senior citizen's fun bus.Vern is survived by his wife Grace, his sister Clara (Peggy) Pyne, and his five children: Vernie (Brenda) Loveless, Diane Stevenson, Eileen (Donald) Larson, Dorothy (Don) Jones, & Mary (George) Priskos and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Vernie, mother Lurleen, and sister Elaine Decker. A viewing will be held Thursday, December 1st at Neil O'Donnell Mortuary 372 East 100 South in Salt Lake City from 7:00-7:30 p.m., with the Trisagion prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services, Friday, December 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral 279 South 300 West in Salt Lake City. Interment will be at the Bountiful Memorial Park Cemetery.Vern's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Luras and staff for their attentive care.May his memory be eternal.
