Verna M. Heikkinen1927 - 2013Verna M. Heikkinen, 85, formerly of Kenosha, late of Racine, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints.She was born on Dec. 20, 1927, to the late Forrest and Ruth (Wiseman) Gossett in Paris, Ill.Verna worked at several restaurants and at Anchor Hocking for several years.Verna married Lawrence Heikkinen in 1969 in Kenosha. He precedes her in death.Verna is a member of AARP.Verna enjoyed donating to different organizations for several years and was an avid Packer fan.Verna is survived by her children Betty Greeno of Kenosha, Patricia (Robert) Dye of Adams, Wis., and Lois (Chris) Slaughter of Alma Center, Wis.; her stepchildren, Susan (Roy) Smith of Nebraska and Larry (Myrna) Heikkinen of Arizona and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her first husband, Everett Risinger and a son, Donald E. Risinger.Funeral services for Verna will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
