This obituary is administered by:
Dohr, Verdilla "Judy"Verdilla "Judy" Dohr, age 93, of Appleton, passed away at Willow Brooke Point Senior Living in Stevens Point on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, under the care of Ministry Hospice. Judy was born on June 2, 1923, in Westfield, Wisconsin, to the late Frank and Laurel (Smith) Wagner. She was a graduate of Randolph High School. Judy moved to Milwaukee following graduation and there met her future husband. On May 29, 1948, she married Carl J. Dohr at St. John's Cathedral in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; he preceded her in death on June 7, 2014. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. The annual Dohr Family Christmas Celebration was always the premier event of the year. Judy was an avid sports fan, and was especially loyal to the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. She enjoyed accompanying Carl on his many Knight of Columbus functions, traveling, and especially the time spent with her family. Following Carls' retirement, Judy and Carl moved to Ridgeview Highlands in 2000, and very much enjoyed their apartment as well as many new friends and neighbors. The couple was blessed with three children: Pat (Ed) Whitman, Nancy Dohr (Special friend, Jim Schulte), and Jerry (Chris Metrie) Dohr; her grandchildren, David (Ellen) Whitman, Stephen Whitman (special friend, Bekah Kallas), Amy (Clayton) Weller and Andy Dohr; her great grandchildren, Paul Whitman, Justin and Christoph Weller; and her sister, Marilyn Wanta. She was preceded in death by her sisters, June Framburger and Shirley Ptak. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016, at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 N. McDonald Street, Appleton, with Fr. Gerald R. Falk officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, Judy's wish was that masses be offered for the Wagner and Dohr families. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staffs of Willow Brooke Point Senior Living, River View Lodge and Ministry Hospice, for their loving care.
