Vera Jean Short Taylor1930-2016Vera Jean Short Taylor, 86, of League City, TX passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. She was born on August 1, 1930 in Detroit, MI. to the late Lillian and Kenneth Short, and also her step-mother, Leona Short. She was a deputy county clerk in Gregg and Jefferson Counties.She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Haskell Taylor, retired Texas Ranger; daughter, Jeannie Ward and son-in-law, Jim Ward of Clear Lake; sisters, Nita Wilcox and Sue Melton of Jonesboro, AR; brother, Kenneth Lee Short of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Warren Taylor and Heather Christian; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Cory Taylor and Cora Christian; and many other relatives and cherished friends.Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 9:00 A.M. with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 A.M. at the Friendswood United Methodist Church, 110 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 with Rev. Rosemary Dubois and Rev. Jim Bass officiating.
