Velma "Jean" Rigel, 73, of Greeley passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 in Greeley. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Wednesday, Oct. 19 at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, Oct. 20 at Tennant Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Kroeger officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Jean was born on October 25, 1942 in Benkelman, NE to Fred and Thelma (Buhler) Hunt. She graduated from SterlingHigh School in 1961 and worked most recently for K-Mart Corporation. She married William "Bill" Rigel on November 28, 1960 in Paris, Bear Lake County, Idaho. They were married for 55 years. She loved to read and garden. Jean is survived by sons Allen and Laura Rigel, Mike and Diane Rigel, Tim Rigel; granddaughters Taylor, Erika, and Megan; grandson Trevor; sister Shirley Baney; 5 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Rigel; parents Fred and Thelma Hunt; brother Elery Hunt; sister Elitha Macavoy. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Velma's name to Alzheimer's Foundation of America in care of Tennant Funeral Home, PO Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
