We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Vauna Peterson, who was born on May 13, 1932 in Garfield, Utah, to parents Clisbee Lovell and Aida Peterson. She peacefully passed away on November 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Vauna attended Cyprus High where she met the love of her life, Grant Peterson. They were married September 9th, 1950 and were later solemnized at the Salt Lake temple. Together they raised four children, Mike, Cindy, Diane, and Heidi. They were blessed with ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother always putting her family first.
Vauna retired from Littons after many years where she made many lasting friendships. She was a member of the LDS church and was actively involved in the Relief Society, where she found fulfillment in serving others. Her and Grant loved traveling and spending time at their cabin.
Vauna had many hobbies that brought her joy, including quilting, embroidering, and crocheting. She had a talent for creating beautiful pieces that will be cherished by her loved ones for years to come. She was also a wonderful cook. Sunday dinners and holidays were always a special treat.
Survived by her brother; Brent (Lois), and sister; Jeannene. Daughters; Cindy, Diane, Heidi and daughter-in-law, Jackie.
Preceded in death by her husband, Grant and son; Mike. Sisters; Darlene Timothy and Leatha Garfield. (Lanny's parents) Grandson; Cody and son-in-law Steve Trujillo.
Vauna will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten.
