It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the passing of Van Deward Woods, beloved husband of Brenda Woods of Lake City, SC and the son of the late Herbert and Sylvia Woods founders of the Famous Sylvia’s Restaurant in Harlem NY. Van was born on January 7, 1945, and he peacefully departed this life on Tuesday,October 8, 2024.

Van will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and the love he shared with family and friends. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of productive work rooted in faith and compassion.
